Pierre-Francisque Caroubel (1556-1611) was a French violinist and composer who collaborated with Michael Praetorius and is known for his dance music, such as bransles and galliards -- some of which were published after his death in the anthology Secret des muses (Amsterdam, 1615).
Additionally, a portion of Caroubel's music was arranged by Praetorius as part of Terpsichore Musarum (1612).
